Harmony XL Pro IPL Photofacial laser is a laser skin resurfacing device. We use it to treat wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, acne, acne scars, and other skin issues. IPL stands for intense pulsed light. It is a way to dramatically reduce skin imperfections without surgery or other invasive methods. The great benefit is that we can deliver effective results without anesthesia or significant downtime.
The Harmony XL Pro Photofacial uses the power of light therapy to heat targeted areas of skin to just the right temperature to destroy excess melanin that may cause skin discoloration. It can also reduce sun damage and promote the growth of more even-textured, even-toned skin, without significant damage to the healthy skin that surrounds the imperfections. The procedure is well-tolerated, and the sensation is like a rubber band lightly snapping against skin. IPL can treat a range of skin conditions, such as:
The length of your treatment will depend on the size of the area to be treated and the severity of your skin conditions, but is unlikely to take more than an hour. We recommend that you plan to have 3-5 treatments spaced three weeks or so apart for best results.
Over the few weeks following the procedure, you should see age spots and other blemishes drying up and flaking off. Once all your treatments are complete according to our recommendations, you may see an improvement of as much as 75% or greater with respect to evenness of skin tone and skin texture.
Immediately after your procedure, your skin may be a bit sore and red, sort of like when you get a sunburn, but this should start to fade within 24 hours. We recommend you avoid the sun as much as possible for the two days following a procedure and avoid direct exposure to the sun for at least 1-2 weeks.
