Banish Crows Feet and Frown Lines With Botox® or Dysport® in Time for the Holidays
Your list of holiday to-do’s is already done (and you’ve checked it twice). Did you make sure to include taking care of your wrinkles?  If not, keep reading to see how fast and easy Botox® and Dysport® make wrinkle reduction.

We can bet that your holiday calendar is already jam-packed with parties and travel plans. But it’s going to be tough to face the festivities if your face is looking haggard rather than jolly.

This time of year makes life busier than ever, which usually means self-care takes a back seat. That’s why our team at Serenity Women’s Care in Scottsdale, Arizona, makes it as easy as possible.

With our suite of cosmetic injectables, you don’t have to sacrifice holiday prep time and precious moments with your family for your aesthetic. Botox® and Dysport® offer results that develop before the turkey is carved and will last past the ball drop.

Here’s a closer look at these two powerhouse treatments and what they can do for you.

Botox vs. Dysport

Botox received its FDA approval in 2002, Dysport in 2009. Since then, the two injectables have been duking it out for top dog in the injectable industry. Here’s a closer look at what sets them apart from each other.

The similarities

Botox and Dysport both work similarly in that they both use a toxin to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by relaxing and temporarily paralyzing the muscles in your face. If your muscles are still and can’t contract, wrinkles are much less likely to appear on the surface of your skin.

You can also expect the same procedure and recovery time. Both injections only take a few minutes to administer and come with a minimal risk of side effects. Regardless of which injectable you get, you may need follow-up or maintenance injections to maintain results.

Results from both Botox and Dysport develop quickly. Botox results appear in 1 week to 1 month and last for a few months, while Dysport results appear within a few days and can last months.

The differences

Both treatments use a similar ingredient, but the trace protein amounts vary, which can make one treatment more effective for you than the other.

Dysport is approved only for severe glabella lines (lines that extend upward between your eyebrows toward your forehead). These deep folds become more pronounced when you frown or squint.

Botox is slightly more versatile and can be used on other areas of your face. In addition to glabella lines, we can use Botox to address forehead lines and fine lines around your eyes (crow’s feet).

The best part

Botox and Dysport have different things to offer, but they don’t exist in a vacuum. Talk to us about getting both injectables at or around the same time to round out your treatment plan. We can also discuss using dermal fillers to plump out lax, crepey skin or tapping into our lineup of skin rejuvenation services

Don’t wait for the first frost

Botox and Dysport results develop quickly, but not overnight, so there’s no time to lose. If you want to freshen up before the festivities, we recommend coming to see us as soon as possible. The faster you get your treatments, the more time you have to recover from any post-injection redness or tenderness, as well.
